Per lungo tempo il Mostro di Roma - come viene rinominato dalla stampa - \u00e8 identificato nella figura di Gino Girolimoni, un fotografo che all'epoca aveva 38 anni. Nonostante non ci fossero prove a suo carico l'uomo venne sempre identificato con il pedofilo e assassino.
