Grazie al potentissimo Osservatorio Vera C. Rubin, recentemente messo in servizio, i ricercatori hanno determinato le dimensioni della cometa 3I\/ATLAS, il terzo oggetto interstellare a essere identificato nel Sistema solare. Secondo i calcoli ha un diametro di circa 11 chilometri, quanto l'asteroide che 66 milioni di anni fa, alla fine del Cretaceo, determin\u00f2 l'estinzione dei dinosauri non aviani.
