Lo ha reso noto il Foreign, commonwealth and development office. Hickey, che assumer\u00e0 l&#8217;incarico da giugno 2026, succede a <strong>Lord Llewellyn<\/strong>, che ricoprir\u00e0 il ruolo di direttore politico dell\u2019Ufficio degli Esteri, del Commonwealth e dello Sviluppo (Fcdo) e direttore generale per gli Affari politici. In passato Hickey \u00e8 stato <strong>ambasciatore britannico a Baghdad <\/strong>dal 2019 al 2021, ambasciatore e coordinatore politico presso la missione del Regno Unito alle Nazioni Unite a <strong>New York<\/strong>, vice capo missione al Cairo, consigliere politico a Pretoria, capo della missione britannica a Bengasi e vice capo missione a Damasco.
