Tra le novità figurano l’introduzione della categoria Best Album Cover (Migliore Copertina di Album), la fusione delle sezioni Best Recording Package e Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package in un’unica categoria, e il nuovo riconoscimento al personale scolastico che promuove l’educazione musicale, il Music Educator Award. A guidare le candidature è Kendrick Lamar con 9 nomination, seguito da Lady Gaga con 7. Completano il gruppo dei più candidati Sabrina Carpenter, Leon Thomas e Bad Bunny, tutti a quota 6.
